A biometric fingerprint reader sits flush in the frame and releases the face in well under a second. Multiple prints can be enrolled, so a spouse or another trusted adult has the same instant access you do — and nobody else does. Flip-up models ride on hydraulic lift shocks and are the right choice where overhead clearance is tight. Slide-up models rise vertically and lock themselves open, leaving both hands free.
